Toddlers and young children are introduced to martial arts while enhancing coordination, stamina, listening skills, and behavior in a safe and fun environment.
Children ages 6 through 9 are instructed in martial arts while cultivating character through perseverance and diligent study. Self-Discipline, respect for others, courtesy, integrity, and the emphasis on peaceful and thoughtful living will also be taught in these classes.
Students ages 10 through 13 receive martial arts instruction in addition to character building lessons. Further cultivation of self discipline, peaceful practices and thoughtful living will produce beneficial results in their future families and careers as well as the world around them.
Students from beginner to advanced will receive skill appropriate instruction in martial arts as well as beneficial insights into self-healing, self-discipline and peaceful and meaningful living which will have a profound impact in their day-to-day lives.
In our Family Class, parents and children are invited to participate together. Learning martial arts as a family can provide a long-lasting bond through shared experience.
Each Wednesday, all classes will experience age and skill appropriate training in a variety of weapons such as Bo staff, Nunchaku, Katana and thrown weapons. Safe boffer facsimile weapons will be used during training exercises to ensure safety. All exercises and training are supervised and conducted by Master Van Mieghem and our dedicated staff.
Every Friday, students will be able to take the training they have experienced throughout the week and translate it into real-time sparring sessions with other students under the careful supervision of Master Christopher Van Mieghem and other staff members. Each age group will be able to spar at their regularly scheduled class time. Protective gear is provided at the school and can also can be purchased from our store.
On selected Saturdays, students who regularly exhibit exemplary behavior and leadership qualities will receive an invitation to attend our leadership seminars where they will receive the training to become Junior leaders.
Junior leaders help oversee other students and assist in their instruction. Upon graduation from the program, students will receive a certificate of completion and a patch indicating their Junior Leader status. After this, subsequent attendance in the Leadership Seminar would result in promotion to Assistant Instructor and further responsibilities.
On selected Saturdays, students who show proficiency in a variety of skills such as tumbling, weapons, forms, and kicking/striking demonstrations can join our Demo Team. The Demo Team performs at street festivals, fairs, schools, and other special events to promote the school.
